Children in Africa

Hello children! My name is Louis and I will tell you a few things on how children live in Afrika and especially in Ethiopia.

Many children in African countries are very very very poor. They don't have proper clothes and almost never they have enough to eat. When they go to bed in the evening they are hungry and often thirsty.
The children are poor because their families are poor. Often in Africa children can't even go to school because they have to work and earn money for the family. Most of the time all family members are working in order to have enough food. We want to change that!

One of the children we are helping is a little girl called Tadela. Here is a photograph of her:

Tadela is three years old and she is very sweet and pretty. Together with her mother, her older sister Tigist and her younger sister Birtukan she lives in Ethiopia in a city called Gondar. Tadela lives in a house without windows which has only one room. The whole family sleeps together in one bed and there is no table and no bathroom and no water in the house. At night it can become terribly cold because the city Tadela lives in lies in the highlands of Ethiopia.
But now things are slowly changing: Tadelas mother managed to buy a sofa and some chairs and some kitchen equipment, because a family from Germany is helping her and sends money every month. Now Tigist can go to school and Tadela is in a kindergarden where she plays with her friends. Our organization will help this family to have a happy life in the future.

But already now the little boys and girls in Africa are generally happy children, they laugh a lot and they like to play with their friends and they like games, especially football - just like you!
