Entrepreneur of the month
Our entrepreneur of the month is Melkamsira Asmare.
Melkamsira comes from a poor family in Bahir Dar and lives with her parents and four of her six brothers and sisters in a mud hut. In February 2007 she joined Alchemy World's AWSEC in Bahir Dar. She is now 23 years old.
Melkamsiras dream was to start a travel and tour operator for the historic Ethiopian Amhara Region. After the initial 18 months training she wrote her business plan and decided that the name of her company would be "Masinko -Experience Ethiopia". Recently Melkamsira organized her first trip for a group of nine people - and she did an excellent job! She earned good money and will now reinvest a part of it into her new business. Melkamsira is already working on the organization of another two trips for new customers. We believe that this young lady has a great future ahead of her.
